Fear over Old Trafford for new Rooney deal

There is a familiar mood of tension all over Old Trafford as to if Wayne Rooney, top English striker, will sign a new contract with his club Manchester United or not.

Rooney is reportedly waiting for certain criteria to be met to sign a new contract with United and if he does, then the very heavy rumours of him moving to Chelsea will be diminished for some time. The Englishman is uncertain over the condition of his club as he wants to see what result David Moyes‘ side have this season as well what kind of players are recruited.

Wayne Rooney has just entered the final 18 months of his contract with Manchester United and if he doesn’t sign a new contract, then it is obvious that ample of clubs will try to get this magnificent English striker. It was in 2010 that Wayne Rooney was so closely linked with a move away from Old Trafford, but a deal was signed.

A five year extension and a £250,000 a week salary was eventually decided. Rooney was also heavily linked to Chelsea in the summer but he opted to stay at his club after two bids were rejected. United currently stand seventh in the Barclays Premier League and they are facing the worst ever start in 24 years, when Sir Alex Ferguson was facing problems in his starting years at the prestigious club.

Though Wayne Rooney is doing his best and scoring a lot of goals this season, his club is not able to maintain their position in the league but they topped their Champions League group and are maintaining position in all possible competitions this season. Let’s see what players Moyes is able to lay his hands on this January and what result do the Red Devils receive this season.

Wayne Rooney‘s contract depends on these two things only and let’s see if he renews his contract and progresses to become a Man United legend, or if he decides to move to another club and serves for them.
