Manchester United are reportedly on the brink of signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, Sky Sport reports.

The La Liga giants have already waved goodbye to Cristiano Ronaldo, who quit for Juventus after they refused to bow to his huge contract demands.

Bale could become the second Galactico to jump ship and the Red Devils are extremely hopeful he will make the move to Old Trafford.

The Welshman’s future at Real Madrid will become clearer next week as he holds his first face-to-face talks with new coach Julen Lopetegui who took over from Zinedine Zidane last month.

Sport Witness say United target will hold talks with Lopetegui when the squad return for pre-season training on July 16.

That date will prove key because, if Real refuse to grant him assurances over his playing time, he will leave putting Manchester United in pole position in signing him.

Sky Sports News understands that Bale’s representatives are also due to travel to Madrid in the next fortnight for talks with club president Florentino Perez to discuss the Wales international’s future in the Spanish capital.
