Manchester United are set to raid Barcelona for their French international defender Umititi as they begin their summer plans, according to Goal.
Barcelona have stalled contract talks with the 24-year-old center back Umtiti and Manchester United hope to pounce on the uncertainty with a lucrative offer.
Umtiti has a €60 million release clause in his contract and United would have no problem meeting it to land the France International.
Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho was at loggerheads with the Manchester United board over funds to sign new players in January and he has sent out a statement of intent by putting the France International on his summer wish list.
Jose Mourinho looks to add another quality defender Umtiti to provide competition for Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo.
The 24-year-old, who has 14 International caps for his country, has made 19 appearances in all competitions for La Liga giants so far this season.
Umtiti arrived at the Nou Camp back in June 2016 following his reported €25m switch from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, he has scored one goal in 61 games overall for Barca.
The Red Devils would definitely be willing to match the asking price of Umtiti but it will be interesting to see if the Frenchman will be willing to leave Barcelona for United.
Do you think Man United can land Umititi?
