Man United pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Willian Borges is set to hit the rocks after he denied reports that say he is ready to leave the club, according to the Daily Star.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Old Trafford since Mourinho took charge of Man United, with the Daily Mail reporting that The Red Devils made an enquiry over a possible deal for him in the new year but got turned down.
Willian has scored 36 times in 206 appearances across his four years at Chelsea, and though his chances have reduced under Conte, he is still highly rated at Chelsea.
When questioned about reports linking him with a move some weeks ago, he waved off the speculations
“The fans can be calm.
‘I am a Chelsea player and I am very pleased with the way I have been playing in recent weeks.
‘When I play I always try to do my best. I try to help the team to play well, to score goals and make assists”
Score and assist is exactly what he did in a 5-0 win over Stoke, where he scored once and laid on two assists, highlighting his importance in the team.
Recently the question of a move was brought up again and he replied;
“There was never a contact made with Palmeiras, that’s why I decided to reply politely,” he told ESPN Brazil
“I just want people to make sure that they know I am very happy at Chelsea.“
