Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado has revealed he did not consider a summer move away from the Italian giants in the just concluded summer window.

The Colombian international was linked with a move to the Emirates during the summer window with some reports claiming Wenger had targeted the player as an alternative to key target Thomas Lemar.

The player’s impressive performances last season is believed to have caught the attention of Wenger. Cuadrado played a huge role as Juventus enjoyed a remarkable run to the final of the Champions League and comfortably defended their Serie A title.

Following the difficulty involved in securing the services of key target Thomas Lemar in last summer’s transfer window, reports indicated that the 29-year-old was seen by Wenger as an alternative to the French international.

Wenger’s plans on bringing the player to Emirates was always a tough ask with the player reported to be well settled with life in Italy. Speaking about his future, the player confirmed his intention was always to remain with the Italian giants.

“I’ve never really thought of leaving Juventus. I am happy to have stayed here because this club trusts me. I am happy with my performances and I am happy with my new team-mates as well.”Cuadrado said reports The Sun.

Though he made no direct reference to the Gunners interest in him,  The Sun via Daily Cannon reported the quotes, and wrote “Juan Cuadrado talks Arsenal bid”.

Wenger must now shift his attention to other targets with the Colombian already starring for the Italian side again this season.

Staying at the club seems a decision the player is relishing. He has already started four of the side’s six matches this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists as Juventus continue to maintain their perfect start to the season in Serie A with six wins in as many games.
