Stan Kroenke says Arsenal are still trying to convince Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to sign new deals at the club.
The duo are into the final year of their contract and are yet to sign an extension.
Talks with both players were initiated over a year ago but it’s been put on hold for sometime now, after an agreement couldn’t be reached.
Most Gooners have begun to accept that both players could leave the club for nothing at the end of the season but Kroenke has urged us not to give up.
The club’s majority shareholder says Arsenal would love them to extend their contracts and also insist we can compete with top clubs for top players.
“We want to attract top players, keep top players. Those guys (Sanchez and Ozil) are top players.
“I watched them on Sunday (in the 5-2 win at Everton) and they looked really good in black with the red trim. They looked really good and they played really well and we’d love to keep them.
“It takes two to dance. We’ll keep working to keep our top talent and to attract more talent but some of the guys we’ve got are looking pretty good.
“I feel good about Arsenal’s ability to compete, and compete at a very high level. But I also feel we can get better, I really do. I think we’ll get better at it.”
Arsenal fans are desperate to see both players sign new deals but I must say we are gradually losing hope. It will take a lot to keep both players here and Arsenal have the capability to. It remains to be seen whether they want to stay here or not.
