Spanish giants Real Madrid are understood to be keen on signing Alexis Sanchez in January.
Recent reports emanating from Spain have revealed that Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane has already informed club president Florentino Perez to go all out for the Chilean in the New Year.
Though Alexis is set to depart North London in one of the next two windows, it is rivals Manchester City who are understood to be favorites for the winger’s signature.
The Citizens came agonizingly close to getting him on deadline day last summer after agreeing a fee of around £60million with the Gunners.
Madrid’s interest in the player could very well lead to a battle for the Chilean’s signature.
According to Don Balon via Tribal Football, Zidane is desperate to bring Alexis Sanchez to the Bernabeu in the January transfer window and has approached Perez about bringing in the Arsenal striker.
The report further states that It is not the first time Zidane has asked for Sanchez as he also wanted him in the summer. The Madrid coach is understandably keen on a forward having failed to replace Alvaro Morata after his summer switch to Chelsea.
Madrid have thus had a tough start to the La Liga campaign and are struggling for goals in the absence of Karim Benzema.
Zidane and Perez however have their work cut out in their attempt to lure the player back to Spain, Sanchez is understood to prefer a move to the Etihad as he wants to be reunited with Pep Guardiola, whom he played under during their spell at Barcelona.
