Chelsea and Manchester City could exploit the uncertainty surrounding Wilshere’s future at Arsenal, according to reports.
Wilshere is already into the final year of his contract and the Gunners are yet to open talks to extend his contract.
There have been speculations as to whether Arsenal will offer the midfielder a new deal or not as Wenger refused to be drawn into the subject.
The boss has said Wilshere will need to prove his fitness before the turn of the year before the club will consider offering him a new contract.
However, Chelsea and City are keeping close tabs on Wilshere’s development.
The Daily Mail say both clubs will try to sign the midfielder if he is unable to agree a new deal with Arsenal.
The fact that he is English appeals to the manager’s of both clubs and they will be keen to get him on their books if he manages to stay fit.
Wilshere spent last season on loan and Bournemouth, where he did well until he sustained a broken leg in March.
He’s only just recovered from that injury, making his first league appearance in Sunday’s 5-2 victory over Everton.
