Manchester United are set to offload highly versatile Dutch international Daley Blind in January to free up space for more signings.

Italian journalist Gabrielle Marcotti believes the return of Marco Rojo has increased United’s willingness to part ways with Blind.

“I think United would like to see him out of there,” he told ESPN FC.

“I think they appreciate what he brings and his versatility but the reality is now Rojo’s back, (Victor) Lindelof is in there.

“At some point they’ll get a left-back that they are happy with, it’s not going to be him.”

Daley Blind joined United in 2014 as part of Louis Van Gaal’s first signings after impressing at the World Cup.

His versatility has been of immense help to the team, having filled in a number of positions for United without holding any down.

With a much larger squad now and the need to sign more World class players, he now seems surplus to requirement.

He has been a good squad player so far, and with Luke Shaw likely to leave, I’d want to keep Blind around given that he hasn’t complained about playing time. But then again, I don’t call the shots.

So people what do you think? If you were to call the shots on this one, what would you do? Drop your comments below.
