Manchester United are unwilling to let star forward leave but will sanction his sale this summer on the condition of selling to a club abroad.
United are unwilling to listen to offers for Anthony Martial this summer because the club fear the Frenchman could fulfill his potential elsewhere.
The Red Devils made Martial the most expensive teenager in world football when they agreed a £58million deal with Monaco in 2015 and he dazzled during his debut campaign at the club.
However, Martial’s failed to kick on since Jose Mourinho was appointed in 2016 and the Frenchman is said to be considering his options after falling behind Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku in the pecking order.
In the Premier League, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing the winger, while Juventus have held long-term interest.
However, United want to keep Martial and are fearful that selling the 22-year-old now would come back to haunt them, according to ESPN.
Martial has made 28 league appearances this term, 16 of which have been starts. However, Sanchez’s arrival from Arsenal has complicated the Frenchman’s future and Martial is now unwilling to sign a new deal until he’s given a greater guarantee of first-team football.
The forward’s current deal expires in 2020 and United are keen for him to extend his current stay.
If Martial pushes to leave, United will look to sell abroad and would refuse to sell to Premier League rivals Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea.
