Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United could go head to head in the race to sign Nice midfielder Jean-Michel Seri at the end of the season, according to the Sun.
Manchester United are understood to be keen on a deal for Seri after Mourinho identified him as the perfect man to replace Micheal Carrick, who is set to retire at the end of the season.
Liverpool are also keeping tabs on the midfielder due to the uncertainty hanging over the future of Emre Can.
Can’s contract expires at the end of the season and could be on the move, which would leave Klopp with a hole to fill at the middle of the pitch.
As for Arsenal, Wenger wants to strengthen the midfield in the summer and he is believed to be keeping tabs on a host of midfielders.
Santi Cazorla’s injury struggles and the sale of Francis Coquelin has left the boss with a void to fill and a physical as well as technical player like Seri could just be the perfect target.
Seri is a long-time target of Arsenal and we were one of the clubs that tried to sign him in the summer.
However, Nice weren’t interested in selling, which meant a move couldn’t happen.
It’s now being reported that the midfielder has a £35m release clause on his contract, which would make signing him this summer easier but the amount of clubs interested in his services could mean Arsenal paying more in wages.
Since joining Nice in 2015, Seri has been his club’s stand out player and should be moving to a bigger club sooner rather than later.
