Manchester United are set to get one over their neighbors Man City after getting ahead of them in the race to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
According to The Metro, Jose Mourinho has already told United’s transfer chiefs to launch a bid for the playmaker and is very interested in making him a part of his team.
With Henrik Mhkitaryan set to leave Old Trafford in January after a fallout with Mourinho, United is in need of creativity and the manager is reportedly keen on recruiting the 22-year-old Serbia international, with a bid in the region of £95 million being suggested.
The player however claims not to be interested in the transfer rumors
“I don’t care who came to watch me, I play for Lazio and I am happy here” he told Mediaset Premium
However, United will take advantage of Mourinho’s link with the player’s agent Jorge Mendes, who also has a good relationship with Lazio after helping them broker a loan deal for Nani from Valencia.
Juventus and Man City are also interested, but United are in pole position to seal this deal.
