Man United boss Jose Mourinho is desperate to land Danny Rose and is urging Man United board to table a bid for the Tottenham left back, according to The Sun.

The Portuguse manager’s search for a left back has been well documented, as well as his long standing interest in England international Danny Rose.

The need for a left back has been ever more pronounced this season with Mourinho having to resort to Ashley Young to filling in at left back ahead of Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind, all of whom he feels are not up to the job.

The Daily Mail believe that Man United’s failure to land Danny Rose has been one of the reasons for the recent tension between the manager and the club’s hierarchy.

The club board believe Luke Shaw can still be a success despite his struggles with form and injuries since his £30 million move to Man United in 2014.

They want to let Shaw develop further and bring in a player for the future with Ryan Sessegnon a target. This has frustrated Mourinho who wants a world class left back.

Luke Shaw has started the last three games for United due to Ashley Young switching to right back to deputize for the injured Antonio Valencia, and despite earlier speculations that he would be leaving this January, he is now expected to stay.

Mourinho has made it clear to the board that he wants a world class left back, central midfielder and a winger, and would push for a £50 million deal for Danny Rose.

Danny Rose is currently nursing a knee injury, the same type that kept him out for nine months last season, and at £50 million, he’ll be a very big risk, one probably not worth taking in my opinion.
