Paul Pogba is often misunderstood at Manchester United with the way he acts on the pitch – just like Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.
Those are the views of ex-Manchester United defender turned pundit Danny Higginbotham.
Pogba has often come under criticism ever since his £89million return to Old Trafford in the summer of 2016.
The Frenchman has even been left out of the starting XI in some recent matches by manager Jose Mourinho.
Higginbotham believes Pogba’s body language on the pitch sometimes lets him down, just like Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.
But he claims the style of play at United does not help Pogba showcase his skills either.
“I think, if you are looking at mannerisms on the pitch, I would say he’s fantastic player,” Higginbotham told talkSPORT this morning.
“But sometimes you look at Ozil and his mannerisms on the pitch and sometimes that goes against him.
“I think a lot of it with Paul Pogba is something touched on, with the way he can carry himself.
“I think there is no better sight than when he does pick up the ball and is driving at the opposition.
“But I just think at times, the way Manchester United play – a little bit methodical, a little bit slow – it’s difficult for Pogba to break through because teams are able to get back and sit in.”
