Barcelona and Manchester United are set to join Arsenal in the race to sign Thomas Lemar, according to reports.
Wenger desperatly tried to sign Lemar in the summer transfer window, after identifying him as his priority target but Monaco were reluctant to sell the 21 year old.
Although Monaco reluctantly accepted a £90m deadline day bid from Arsenal, the midfielder then opted not to move, thinking there was little time for him to carefully think about the move.
Despite the failed attempts to lure him over in the summer, Arsenal are believed to still be keen on the winger but will face competition as other clubs join the race for French man.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Barcelona are considering making a move for Lemar after they failed to sign Phillepe Coutinho in the summer.
Liverpool who were linked with the winger last summer and were rumored to have had a £60m rejected, also remain keen on the winger.
However, it is Barcelona who are expected to provide the stiffest competition for Arsenal.
Monaco’s vice president Vadim Vasilyev recently claimed there is a likelihood that Lemar will leave next summer, after admitting that Arsenal came close to signing him in the summer.
And Wenger has also failed to rule out the possibility of renewing his interest in the winger. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be successful when we decide to try again, amid increased competition for his services.
