Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is ready to send Victor Lindelof out on loan this summer to make way for West Brom ace Jonny Evans, who is also targeted by Arsenal.
The Swedish international has failed to convince Mourinho he’s ready to step up at the club since joining from Benfica for £30million last summer.
Lindelof’s made just 15 appearances in the league this term and though he’s showed fleeting signs of promise Mourinho is unwilling to wait for him to come good as he enters his third season at Old Trafford.
Mourinho’s impatience is why the club are interested in signing former Red Devils Jonny Evans in a cut-price £3m deal this summer.
The Northern Ireland international left United for West Brom for a measly £6m in 2015 but a clause in his deal with the Baggies means he can leave for just £3m once they are relegated.
Mourinho is a big fan of Evans but United have a host of centre-backs and the Sun claim Lindelof could be loaned out to make way for the 30-year-old.
A host of European clubs are said to be interested in Lindelof and his departure means Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are handed a lifeline at the club.
Mourinho was happy to sell Smalling last summer but wouldn’t allow him to join rivals Arsenal, who were the most keen suitors in the market.
