Jose Mourinho has set his sights on France as he looks to secure his second signing of the transfer window, and the target is OGC Nice midfielder Jean-Micheal Seri, according to The Sun.
United recently completed the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, in a deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move to the Emirates, they have now turned their attention to bolstering their midfield and feel Seri is the man to get.
According to the Mirror, Mourinho who earlier called out the board to back him in the transfer window with extra funds will feel he has not spent any cash yet since the deal that brought Sanchez to Old Trafford was a straight swap.
Micheal Carrick is set to retire at the end of the season and join the coaching staff, while Marouane Fellaini has six months left on his deal, with no talks over an extension in sight. United will be looking to secure Seri this January or in the summer.
The 26-year-old joined Nice in 2015 from Pacos de Ferreira in Portugal, and has scored once and laid on six assists in 26 appearances this season.
He came close to joining Barcelona in the summer, with the club president confirming that a deal had been agreed, only for the move to break down at the last minute.
