Jose Mourinho is understood to be interested in signing Arsenal star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil next year.

The duo’s contracts expires at the end of the season and with it looking unlikely that they’ll commit their futures to the club, they’ve been linked with a host of domestic and European rival clubs.

Ozil in particular has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford every other time and the Manchester club are believed to be favorites for his signature ahead of Barcelona.

As for Sanchez, with the player believed to be keen on a reunion with former boss Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, it is United’s rivals Manchester City that are understood to be leading the race to sign him but the Red Devils are however also keen on his signature.

According to the Telegraph via The Express, United will try to sign Sanchez when he becomes a free agent in the summer but have privately admitted that City are favorites.

Mourinho was full of praise for Ozil before his team’s visit to the Emirates on Saturday and remained coy when asked about reports linking the German with a move to Old Trafford.

“No comment,” he said.

“Ozil is unique. There is no copy of him – not even a bad one.

“He is the best No 10 in the world. He made things very easy for me and for his team-mates with his football vision and decisions he made.”

Arsenal fans would no doubt be massively disappointed to see any of it’s star players join a rival club especially on a free. It actually could turn into an unwanted trend following Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s move to Liverpool last window.
