Arsenal will have to wait until the end of the season to sign Luis Enrique, according to reports.
It was recently reported that Arsenal are eyeing Enrique as a potential replacement for Arsene Wenger but it has now emerged that the Spaniard isn’t interested in returning into management until next summer.
According to Sport via the Daily Cannon, Enrique has decided to remain on holidays until the end of the season.
He left Barcelona last summer, after failing to win the league title or the Champions League and will now take this season off in a bid to recharge his batteries and study the game more.
A move to the Premier League is believed to be very appealing to the former midfielder, with both Arsenal and Chelsea keen on him.
Wenger recently raised questions about his future when he claimed he would sit down with the board at the end of the season and talk about his future. Should it happen that he doesn’t continue beyond the current season, Enrique will be one of the favorites for the job.
While Enrique has proven his credentials as a top manager at Barcelona, I don’t think he is the right person to replace Wenger.
There is no doubt he is a top manager who have won major titles but I still have doubt about his man management.
There were reports that he had issues with some of his players at Barcelona and I don’t think such scenario would be healthy for us at Arsenal.
