Real Madrid are prepared to turn their attention to Thibaut Courtois next summer after giving up on Manchester United’s David De Gea, according to the Express.
The Spanish giants have been linked with De Gea for a couple of seasons but a deal hasn’t been able to materialize., Real chief, Fiorentino Perez looks determined to sign a world class goalkeeper and has made De Gea his number one target.
However, with United reluctant to lose their star, reports in Spain suggest Perez could turn his attentions to Courtois.
Courtois has about two years left in his contract at Chelsea and Madrid can be forgiven if they think he is the more attainable target.
The Belgian spent three seasons at Atletico Madrid and is a big fan of the Spanish capital, so it is also believed he could be tempted by a move back to Madrid.
The goalkeeper’s agent in Juneflirted with Real, claiming he is in regular contact with the Spanish giants about the Belgian but those comments are believed to be a ploy to get the best possible deal from Chelsea for his client.
Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma are also believed to be on Madrid’s radar.
All of the Real’s target are difficult targets and Courtois will definitely not be the easiest to sign. Chelsea can be difficult to negotiate with when they don’t want to lose a player, so I expect the club to frustrate any interest in the Belgian.
