The Mirror are claiming David Ospina could be offered the chance to leave Arsenal in the winter transfer window.
Ospina is currently back up to Petr Cech and is struggling to force his way into the starting xi.
Reports are claiming the goalkeeper is frustrated with his lack of action and is concerned he may lose his first team place in the Columbia national team when the world cup begins next summer.
According to the Mirror, Ospina’s former club Atletico Nacional are reportedly prepared to offer him an escape route out of Arsenal in January.
Ospina has been unable to usurp Cech as Arsenal’s No 1 and has been looking for a way out. He wanted to leave last summer but Wenger persuaded him to stay by promising games in Europe and cup competition.
The manager has kept his promise but the fear is that, lack of regular game time is making Ospina rusty, as was evident in his performance in Columbia world cup qualifiers, where he made series of errors.
As a result, he may be tempted to leave once the lack of game time begins to threaten his national team place.
Wenger ideally would wants to keep Ospina but could be faced with a battle to keep him if he wants to leave. it won’t be easy convincing him to stay with his mind already on the world cup.
