Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is reportedly eyeing a switch to Old Trafford if he leaves the Gunners according to reports.
The German international’s contract expires at the end of the season, and all attempts so far to get him to sign a new deal has been futile, with the latest offer of £235,000 a week salary turned down by Ozil’s party.
Ozil is reported to want closer to £300,000 and would be open to a reunion with former boss Jose Mourinho who has been watching him closely.
Man Utd are evidently in need of the 29-year old’s creativity, and Ozil worked well in Mourinho’s pattern at Real Madrid.
With a reported overhaul planned at Old Trafford which might see creative midfielder Mhkitaryan leave, Ozil is one of the first names mooted to be on the transfer target list.
Daily Mail have it that Ozil has made it plain to his friends that he is eyeing a switch to Man Utd, and if that be the case an early deal in January would not be entirely out of the question.
