Real Betis are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to reports.
Wilshere has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal since the summer transfer window and the rumors don’t look like they will be going away anytime soon, even though he has managed to play his way back into Wenger’s plans.
This is likely down to the player’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
Wenger recently said a decision will not be made on Wilshere’s future until December and Betis are planing to make a move for the midfielder in the new year if talks between him and Arsenal doesn’t make any progress.
According to the Sun via Tribal Football, the Spanish outfit want to take the midfielder to Spain when the January transfer window opens.
Betis tried to sign Wilshere in the summer and hold a long standing interest in the midfielder.
Wilshere’s situation at Arsenal is a bit complicated. His poor injury record is one of the reasons he hasn’t been offered a new deal yet. Also the presence of Mesut Ozil is also hindering his involvement in the first team as both players player in the same position.
With Ozil’s future still up in the air, Wenger wouldn’t want to lose both players at the end of the season. Therefore I think the outcome of Ozil’s contract renewal will determine whether we’ll keep Wilshere or not.
