Arsenal appear to be very interested in FC Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to Arsenal for quite sometime and those links have refused to go away.
According to the Express via the Daily Cannon, Arsenal are looking at Pereira as an option to strengthen its midfield.
Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere could both leave the club when their contract expires at the end of the season and the Porto man is considered a good replacement.
Arsenal have reportedly sent scouts to watch the midfielder in action recently. However, we aren’t alone in the race to sign him as Manchester United have also sent scouts to watch him in action.
Arsenal may well be in the market for a new midfielder as we have also been recently linked with Besiktas attacking midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.
Rated at £18m, Pereira may be difficult to attain, as he still has a long-term contract at Porto and knowing how difficult the Portuguese club can be in negotiations, we may be better off keeping our options open.
However, Danilo is the kind of midfielder Arsenal need, his physicality and great work ethic makes him a very good defensive midfielder. Defensively he is good, whether he will be able to contribute to Arsenal style of play going forward is another question.
