Alexis Sanchez was devastated when his move to Manchester City fell through on deadline day, according to his teammate Mauricio Isla.
Sanchez was keen to link up with Guardiola at the Etihad and was reportedly unhappy when the transfer failed.
Arsenal were willing to allow Sanchez join City on the final day of the transfer window but inability to secure a replacement made the club not to sanction the move.
At this time, Sanchez was in action with the Chile national team and his national teammate, Isla, has now revealed that the striker wasn’t happy with the failed move.
“He is in a top club like Arsenal but was happy to move to another team,” Isla told reporters at Santiago airport, as quoted by the Express.
“The transfer was very important for him but did not happen.
“The news changed completely, of him not signing and the contract not being given. Surely that hurts.
“Now that he returns, I hope he regains the level he has, that person he is, that player he is because when he is well, the team is much better.”
