Arsenal are trending in the Italian media after Sky Italia reported that the Premier League side want to sign Mehdi Benatia from Juventus.

According to Sky Italia Arsenal have made a bid of €40 million and Juventus have bluntly rejected the bid and are not interested in selling at all.

Other Italian newspapers however feels €40 million is a good amount for the Morocco international.

Calciomercato call it a “Monster offer” and they say Arsenal have switched their attention from Daniele Rugani to his older team mate.

ITA Sport Press say Arsenal are ready to make the signing with the big offer, ahead of the January transfer window

TMW refer to Arsenal’s €40m offer as an “important offer”, but rule out a move, saying Benatia is simply not for sale.

Given Benatia’s age and quality, it’s safe to say such bid is very ridiculous coming from Arsene Wenger, and even more ridiculous is the news that it was rejected by Juventus.

Either way Benatia has been linked to Arsenal for a long time, and this news will just be doing the same again at least until the end of this transfer window.
