Manchester United are planning a late loan move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng, according to Sky Sports.
It was reported Boateng phoned United manager Jose Mourinho, this week, to explain he was honoured by his interest in him, but added that he would not be moving to Old Trafford.
The former Manchester City full-back won the trophy in his first season with Bayern in 2013.
Mourinho sees Boateng as his No.1 target after Leicester City refused to engage in talks over the sale of Maguire.

Boateng has endured several lengthy injury lay-offs in recent years and United are hesitant about offering a long-term deal to the defender.
The World Cup winner is thought to have been in contact with Mourinho about a potential move to Old Trafford, but there are conflicting reports about whether the 29-year-old wants to join the Red Devils.
Boateng, 29, suffered muscle and tendon injuries over the past three Bundesliga campaigns, missing 27 games in total since December 2016.
Last season he suffered a hamstring injury in April, almost causing him to miss Germany’s dismal World Cup campaign in Russia.
Boateng also missed a number of games at the beginning of the 2017-18 season due to another hamstring problem.
Edward Woodward will have to act quick, however. There is now less than 24 hours until the deadline slams shut.
