Stoke City vs Manchester City preview :
Manchester City visit the Britannia Stadium this weekend, a place where the Manchester based side haven’t managed to win in their last 4 visits with all those matches ending at 1-1.
After suffering a defeat against the resilient Cardiff City, Manchester City bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Hull City at home though it was in unconvincing fashion. Pellegrini is expected to shuffle his team for this match as they face Plzen on 18th of this month and would want to keep his key players fresh.
David Silva was sent back to Manchester after suffering a mild muscular injury and will be rested against Stoke. New signing, Demichelis is also out for 6 weeks and Captain, Vincent Kompany is expected to return by early October while Micah Richards is still doubtful for the game.
Negredo won the City player of the month award and should be starting this weekend given his physical attributed. Nasri will replace Silva in the lineup while Jovetic may make his debut. Rodwell also has a good chance of starting.
Hart, Zabaleta, Garcia, Nastasic, Clichy, Rodwell, Yaya, Jovetic, Nasri, Navas, Negredo.
The Potters have responded strongly after their opening day defeat to Liverpool by winning their next two games. Peter Crouch has a good recent record against City and hence has a good possibility of starting against the former Champions.
Charlie Adam and Glenn Whelan are doubtful for this fixture but Adam may well feature in this match. Mark Hughes is expected to make minimal changes in the starting lineup that defeated West Ham.
Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Huth, Pieters, Walters, Adam, Wilson, N’Zonzi, Etherington, Crouch.
Predicted score: 1-1[/highlight]
This match’s result isn’t expected to be any different than the last 4 fixtures at Britannia Stadium. Hughes would be hoping Begovic can continue his rich form and help his side earn a point.
