Shocking reports in Turkey are claiming Alex Iwobi could head to Galatasaray before the transfer window closes.
This summer, a lot of Arsenal players have been linked with a move away from the club, but the most shocking of them all, is the recent reports linking Iwobi to Turkey.
The 21 year old broke into Arsenal’s first team last season and quickly established himself as one of the club’s brightest prospects.
However, Wenger’s change to a 3-4-3 formation has seen the midfielder feature less than he did at the beginning of his career and Takvim via the Daily Star is claiming he could be set for a spell away from the Emirates.
According to the Turkish based newspaper, Galatasaray and Arsenal are in talks over a loan move for the Nigerian international.
Gala’s sporting director Cenk Ergun recently opened talks with Arsenal over Iwobi and it is claimed that discussions are progressing well.
Should there be any truth in this, it would come as a huge shock to Arsenal supporters who rate Iwobi highly.
Personally, I think this is unlikely to happen. Although he wouldn’t start if everyone is fit, he has a crucial role to play in our quest to challenge for the Premier League title. He will be a good back up option for the two attacking midfield positions and it will be a silly decision if Wenger allows him leave.
Arsene Wenger said Arsenal is ready for their third victory over West Ham United and told Gunners are in top of their form with physical and mental level.
He mentioned ‘Mental Pure’ of his team earned the two consecutive wins since the February. And, now they are aiming for the third.
Wenger said: “We have only one target now,”
“We have come through difficult periods and the team who finishes top is the team who can continue to perform and get results even when the period is a bit more difficult.
“This team has a good mentality. I’ve had many teams in my life and this team is top quality. They have gone through a bad period but, when you play like that [against Watford], that shows that mentally they are pure.
“You have to find a team who clicks at the right moment. You have a whole lot of different reasons [for it happening], because your injured players come back like Welbeck and because of the emergence of players like Iwobi.”
He believes Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny duo will make good outcome against all odds.
“Both of them are improving offensively, When Coquelin plays with Cazorla, Coquelin is the defensive player which made them a perfect pair. Then Coquelin focused more on defending and Cazorla more on attacking.”
“Now both [Elneny and Coquelin] share the job, so the balance is a bit [better]. They’re more similar. We have four attackers in front of them so we need people who can defend well in central midfield.”
One more player he praised after the last match is Alex Iwobi. 19-year-old player showed an impressive show against Watford and dominated on the scoresheet.
