The Gunners aren’t expected to replace Mustafi with a like for like central defender this transfer window as Per Mertesacker, Rob Holding, Callum Chambers and Laurent Koscielny will be used as the team’s main centre-backs.

According to a report from the Daily Star, Mustafi hasn’t clicked with his teammates, which is why the big defender wants to leave this summer before the end of the transfer window.

I have been working hard and will continue to do so to make sure I am in the best possible condition for my return to the pitch”, the former Juve, Milan and Inter told the club’s official website.

Ibrahimovic and Manchester United parted companies a few months ago as the Premier League giants refused to extend the player’s stay at the Old Trafford. His return to the Red side of Manchester, however, is now a deal.

In England it is known as Premier League but outside England it is named as The English Premier League. The Premier League is followed by large number of audience all over the world.

The current champion for 2014-15 is Chelsea against and the runner up is Manchester City.

The maximum number of titles are won by Manchester United (13) and after that Chelsea (4), Arsenal (3) and Manchester City (2) comes in the list.

Man City Star Yaya Touré: I Would Love to Play for PSG

Despite the regulations and the £50 million fine from UEFA, PSG are set to go on a spending spree in the summer. They are already close to securing David Luiz from Chelsea in a £ 50 million deal. Now, they are reportedly looking at players like Eden Hazard and Yaya Touré.

The future of Manchester City midfielder Yaya Touré has taken an incredible twist since the end of the season. A key ingredient in City’s title winning season, Touré used the excuse of poor celebrations for his birthday as a reason to talk about leaving the club. His agent, Dimitry Seluk, recently spoke about the need for Touré being part of City after his playing career came to an end.

Whilst stressing the same, Touré also spoke about the interest from Paris St Germain. Rather than dismissing the interest, the Ivory Coast international stated that he would love to play for a club like PSG, who he says have joined the ranks as one of the top clubs in Europe. He said:

“Considering the objectives in Paris, how could you not be attracted by such a club?

“PSG has become one (of the) strongholds in Europe. It would be an honour to be part of such a club one day. If I could help…”

PSG will be in a position to buy players like today for massive transfer fees only if they managed to sell a couple of their star names. It looks like the case after their midfielder Marco Verratti has been linked with Champions League winners Real Madrid in the last few days.

In 50 appearances last season, Touré scored 24 goals and created a further 11 as City lifted their second league title in three seasons. The 31-year-old has also been speaking about to return to Barcelona as well.

Arsenal: From The Title Race to Battle for 4th Place

Arsenal title loss

Arsenal fans must feel like they are suffering from another case of Déjà vu. With all the early season optimism of a title race and the outside chance of Arsenal being crowned Premier League champions since 2003/04 the gunner’s season has taken a familiar path and the Arsenal fans now find themselves looking over their shoulder at Everton in 5th.

Everton now sit just 6 points behind Arsenal and not only do they have a game in hand on the North Londoners but they also welcome Arsenal to Goddison park next weekend, and if results go their way (Arsenal play Manchester City this week while Everton face Fulham) could even leap frog the Gunners into the champions league places at the start of April. So although this is all talk at the moment it is still worth looking at where it all went wrong for Arsenal this season and how they put things right to challenge again in the future.

Now we don’t want this to sound all doom and gloom for Arsenal fans, there is of course the small matter of an FA Cup semi-final in April as well and that competition represents the best hope of ending their 9 year trophy drought but the draw against Swansea this week almost certainly brought an end to their Premier League hopes and here’s a couple of reasons why.

Although it is sometimes too easy to point to injuries when a club begins to struggle and some Arsenal fans would argue that if the club had invested more wisely in the summer and winter transfer windows then injuries to key players wouldn’t have had such an impact but it is worth considering nonetheless.

Theo Walcott injury

In recent months/weeks Arsenal have been effected more than most by injuries and it could be argued that a Liverpool side without Suarez, as well as Gerrard and Henderson sidelined and Coutinho injured as well would also struggle to compete as they have done. And that can be applied to most top teams not only Liverpool, Arsenal have had 4/5 first team players unavailable in recent weeks and so it is no surprise this has coincided with a dip in form as well as players admitting to feeling ‘tired’ against Swansea on Tuesday.

Performances Against Tops Sides

There can be no hiding from this fact for Arsenal fans, and it has not only been this season that Arsenal have struggled against sides nearest to them in the table. This season Arsenal have taken just 5 points from other clubs in the Top 5 of the league, the same amount of points as they took against the same opposition last season although Arsenal still have Manchester City and Everton to play again this campaign. Back in 2009/10 Arsenal’s record against top teams was even worst as they took just 4 points from 8 games against their nearest rivals, losing twice to both Chelsea and Manchester United and finishing 11 points adrift of the pair in the league.

Arsenal vs chelsea 2014

These results against rival title chasers are hugely important and must be improved if Arsenal want to challenge next year. Taking the 2009/10 season as an example again, if Arsenal had won the four games that they lost against Chelsea and Manchester United they would have been crowned champions that season instead of finishing so far off the pace in 3rd. That is also the case this year and if Arsenal’s results against the Top 5 teams are removed the club would still be joint top of the league, showing the important of results against the top teams.

The Need For More Firepower

The last point won’t come as a surprise to most football fans as Arsenal’s need for another striker was evident both last summer and again in the winter transfer window. Wenger has mentioned signing a top striker only if he finds the right candidate but this campaign has shown that 1 striker is not enough to keep up a title challenge for a whole season. Giroud has performed his role well but has only scored 13 times in the Premier League and no other Arsenal player has reached double figures, compare this to Liverpool who have free scoring Suarez and Sturridge who have scored just 7 goals less than Arsenal as a team and you can see why Arsenal need to strength up front if they are to compete again anytime soon.

Bad luck for Theo Walcott and Arsenal

Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott

The Gunner’s clean sweep 2-0 win against their arch rival Tottenham Hotspurs in FA Cup on Saturday sent Arsenal in 4th Round of the FA Cup, which later led the End of Theo Walcott season after being stretchered off on the 82th min of the game due to knee injury.

The Arsenal’s forward who returned from an abdominal injury in late November has already netted five goals giving relief to striker Olivier Giroud, When the club regrettably announces on Monday that he’ll be sidelined for another next six months at the club and will miss World Cup in Brazil.

And the question arises with Theo Walcott‘s injury, who should Arsenal buy this January as replacement keep their title hopes alive, As both key strikers Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner has been out of the pitch due to injury that forces Arsène Wenger to get a prominent striker as they’re just a single point ahead of Man City.

There was support from Walcott‘s club-mates on Monday, with Aaron Ramsey tweeting: “Gutted for Theo. He’ll come back stronger after this. Been fantastic for us so far this season.” While Podolski tweeted “Such a bad luck for Theo and the whole team! All the best for you to come back soon!! “

Bizzare day in English Premier League

A lot of strange things happened in the EPL yesterday. Nicolas Anelka scored two goals for West Bromvich, and celebrated it with a reverse nazi hail, which was vastly used in France during World War II. Growing antisemitism in France is an issue in Anelka’s country. Is this gesture Anelka’s support for the extremist organizations? Anelka could face a ban from English FA because of this.

Joe Hart could have lost his eye in the duel with Crystal Palace stryker Cameron Jerome. The two players collided in air, and the City goalkeeper was very lucky because the punch didn’t came only two centimeters up. If it were, maybe he would lost an eye, and his playing career would be over. Hart made heroic effort and finished the game, and Jerome had to be subbed.

Cardiff owner Vincent Tan also made a gesture which we never saw in England before. His team suffered from a late equalizer in their game with Sunderland, and the home team crowd were desperate. Tan also went wild and booed his own team at the end of the match.

In the same game, Sunderland striker Borini had to be subbed at half time, because he collapsed in the dressing room. He was rushed to the hospital, and it seems that everything is ok with him.

Rodgers: we just have to keep fighting

Football - Liverpool FC appoint Brendan Rodgers as manager

Two years back they were in eight position, last year finished on seventh, but this season they are in top-flight and become one of the toughest opponents for the Premier League rivals Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Liverpool is standing second in Premier League table and only two points behind league leaders Arsenal. There is no more rest for them until win something for the fans and club.

The Reds has not played Champions League games and finished the last two season with bad standings.

However, now they are playing with new energy and demolish opponents and their manager’s job. Yes, Tottenham has sacked Andre Villa-Boas after their worst defeat against Liverpool.

Brenden Rodgers, Liverpool manager, has said they are not focusing on anything specific or title, but they are trying to deliver a decent performance without making mistakes.

Rodgers told: “We’re not even thinking about that to be honest,”

“We are working on our style of football going forward.

“You can be looking to finish fourth, or third or second, but eventually you want to be winning the league.

He added: “The year before I came it was eighth, then last season we finished seventh.

“But realistically we just have to keep fighting when you look at the depths of some of the squads.”

Liverpool has managed to maintain their success, but their only advantage is other teams are going to play more games in other competitions so Liverpool will end this season with a shield in their hand.
