Shocking reports in Turkey are claiming Alex Iwobi could head to Galatasaray before the transfer window closes.

This summer, a lot of Arsenal players have been linked with a move away from the club, but the most shocking of them all, is the recent reports linking Iwobi to Turkey.

The 21 year old broke into Arsenal’s first team last season and quickly established himself as one of the club’s brightest prospects.

However, Wenger’s change to a 3-4-3 formation has seen the midfielder feature less than he did at the beginning of his career and Takvim via the Daily Star is claiming he could be set for a spell away from the Emirates.

According to the Turkish based newspaper, Galatasaray and Arsenal are in talks over a loan move for the Nigerian international.

Gala’s  sporting director Cenk Ergun recently opened talks with Arsenal over Iwobi and it is claimed that discussions are progressing well.

Should there be any truth in this, it would come as a huge shock to Arsenal supporters who rate Iwobi highly.

Personally, I think this is unlikely to happen. Although he wouldn’t start if everyone is fit, he has a crucial role to play in our quest to challenge for the Premier League title. He will be a good back up option for the two attacking midfield positions and it will be a silly decision if Wenger allows him leave.

Reports confirm surprise late bid for this £80,000-a-week England star

Galatasaray could make a move for Kieran Gibbs before the transfer window closes this week.

Gibbs has found himself out of Wenger’s plans and has been told to find a new club but he has been unsuccessful in doing that because of Arsenal’s valuation and also his reluctance to take a pay-cut.

Several clubs have been interested in Gibbs but Galatasaray could now make the race tougher by registering their Interest in the defender.

According to the Times via the Daily Cannon, the Turkish giants are only willing to pay up to £4m for the defender.

That is way short of Arsenal’s valuation for the defender. The Gunners rejected a £10m bid from West Brom last month, so it is impossible they will now accept Gala’s low-ball offer.

Leaving the Premier League may not even appeal to Gibbs who has been at Arsenal since he was 14.

A club that can’t even table a good offer will definitely not be able to meet the players financial demands, meaning it is almost impossible that Gibbs will be making a move to Turkey.

He is still expected to leave the Emirates before the transfer window closes next Thursday, with Watford Newcastle and West Brom still lurking around to sign him.

Drogba strikes gold!

Drogba strikes gold!

The former Chelsea front man has just purchased a stake in a gold mine reported to be worth £1 Billion.

The lty mine is an open pit operation in the Galatasaray strikers homeland of the Ivory Coast located near the border with Liberia some 700 kilometers from the capital Abidjan, and has produced 800,000 ounces of gold since it was opened in 1991.

The former Chelsea player is a national hero at home famous not only for football, but for all the humanitarian work that he does including the effort he has put into uniting the rebel north, and government supporting south following over a decade of civil unrest and a brief war that ended the conflict in 2011.

Currently the mine is a joint venture between the government owned mining company Sodemi, and its Canadian partners La Mancha. Sodemi have agreed to sell a further 14% stake in the mine to La Mancha which takes the Canadian company’s ownership to 55%  of which they are selling 5% of their stake to Drogba essentially making the mine 50% Ivorian, and 50% Canadian owned.

It is thought that by getting such a well-known figure involved it would help to rejuvenate and industry that has not seen a great deal of investment for years as the government concentrated on the agricultural sector making the ivory Coast the world’s largest cocoa grower.

We all know that these top footballers love their fast cars and bling, but having your own gold mine to brag about is pretty cool!

Wesley Sneijder could be on his way to Chelsea

With the return of the “special one” to Stamford Bridge Chelsea fans will all now be expecting their club to return to the top flight of English football, which surprises me when their interim manager Rafa Benitez actually did quite well for the club, with them finishing in third place and qualifying for next seasons Champions League.
They also won the Europa League which isn’t bad for a manager that was only there for seven months. This of course was not good enough for the Chelsea fans, as all they were ever going to settle for was having Mourinho back. A lot of bwin football offers will be taken up to make a bet on this move happening!
After only being in place for a day Mourinho has announced his new signing Andre Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported £20 million with an official announcement to be made Wednesday night.

Along with Schurrle I expect to see the Blues make a move for Manchester City’s Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko, and if reports in the British tabloid Sun are to be believed he might also go for 28-year-old Wesley Sneijder.
“The Galatasaray playmaker is set to move to Chelsea according to reports in Turkey… Sneijder has struggled under boss Fatih Terim and the Turkish club will listen to a ‘reasonable’ offer.”
Speaking at a press conference after being announced as the new Chelsea manager, something that has to go down as the worst kept secret of the year, Mourinho said:
“We have to improve the team, and when I say improve the team people are already thinking about how many millions Chelsea is going to spend.”
“When I say improve the team I am saying improving by work. If after that we can improve the team by buying a couple of players it is fantastic. In the last two years we were struggling in the Premier League.
“I like the profile, I like the fact we have three, four or five players from the beginning and I think they have to be always a part of the Chelsea soul.
“The profile of the younger players with long-term space for improvement and development, I like very much. With the immediate age of Eden Hazard, Oscar, David Luiz and these boys, I think it will be good for me to work with them and good for them to work with me.
“It’s a young squad with a lot of talent and I think they need stability to reach a high point of their evolution and for their careers.”
Since having the man Abramovich wanted to sign Radamel Falcao stolen from Chelsea by AS Monaco another club that has big plans, my feeling is that Brazilian striker Hulk could also be on the cards, along with Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic.
All this means despite what Mourinho might say about developing players, is that the west London club will be shopping for talent, so look for Chelsea to spend big this summer, as their owner wants nothing but the top prizes for his team.
