Udinese vs Inter Milan preview :

Coppa Italia takes center stage this week in Italy as the 4th round gets underway at destinations across the country, where Udinese welcomes 5 Inter Milan.

After Antonio Di Natale announcing retirement at the end of the season following some bitter comments he received on his recent performances, he will now want to be spared from rotation to prove he still can make the difference. Luis Muriel is struggling to get back to full fitness, After their usual slow start in the league, Udinese are struggling to come back the way they have done in previous seasons under Guidolin and secure European qualification. Club owner Giampaolo Pozzo stated that he expects the team to reach “the end of the competition” in order to seize qualification through the cup.

Inter’s Walter Mazzarri will have all strikers available and could take the chance to rest Rodrigo Palacio by fielding Diego Milito instead. Fredy Guarin is suspended by the league, which means he will probably start in this cup match. Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Ricky Alvarez may be subject to rotation in favor of Javier Zanetti and Mateo Kovacic. Inter Milan look better equipped to overcome their opponents in a single match and with a bigger squad to pick from, they’ll be the fresher of the two teams. Still, an unsatisfied Antonio Di Natale is a dangerous enemy that has to be controlled and prevented from leading his team to avenge the 3-0 defeat suffered in the league.

Inter won in the city derby!

Italy Soccer Serie A

Like London derby, Inter vs Milan match weren’t that interesting, and also lacked in quality. But, we saw one goal, we could even say a masterpiece of Rodrigo Palacio, who brought victory and joy to Inter fans again their arch rivals, Milan.

In the first half both teams didn’t want to take any risks, and were very defense orientated. There were some chances, Balotelli and Kaka for Milan, and Cambiasso for Inter, but no goal.

In the second half we saw similar approach of both teams, many fouls and yellow cards, and chances were rare and not that big.

In the final 20 minutes of the game, Milan physically lost the battle with Inter, and home side took advantage on that. In the 85. minute, key moment occurred, Rodrigo Palacio brilliantly, with his back heal, fooled both Zapata and Abbiati, and scored the only goal on match.

Inter stayed in 5. place, but Milan dropped to 13. Catastrophic season for the rosso-nerri, they are currently only 5 points above Sassuolo, best placed team in the relegation zone.

In the last seconds of the first half, Inter managed to put one goal back. Guarin again was the main creator, Nagatomo didn’t have to do much, just to “bow” before Reina and score an easy goal.

Inter came into the second half with the idea to attack and get game and least to the draw. They didn’t managed to do that, and the game was finally lost when Alvarez got second yellow card. After that they completely fell, and just waited to the end game.
