Having been torn to pieces in their humiliating 4-0 defeat at Liverpool, a similar fate befell Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in the post-match post-mortems.
Wenger’s players were variously described as “lazy”, “pathetic”, “arrogant” and “disgraceful”, while the manager himself is under scrutiny once again just three months after signing a new two-year contract.
“Last season, I called them ‘cowards’,” former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports after Sunday’s match.
“And afterwards maybe I got a little bit of criticism. Maybe that’s a bit too strong and you can’t say that on live TV, but I’ll say it again –- cowards.”
“How can you play like this in a big game for so many of Arsenal’s players?” asked former Manchester United captain Gary Neville.
“Forget not turning up, forget not playing well, but just the general attitude or lack of respect for the shirt from three or four of them in not running back and not bothering is disgraceful.”
Arsenal great Thierry Henry, analysing the game for Sky Sports, confessed: “At one point I wanted to leave. I didn’t want to watch the game anymore. It’s too much to take.”
While it was Arsenal’s defensive shortcomings that were exhibited at Anfield, the player who featured on almost all the British newspapers’ sports pages was star forward Alexis Sanchez.
The Chile international was despondency personified as he traipsed to the dugout following his 62nd-minute substitution.
After the game, he took to Instagram to post a caption-free picture of himself sitting on his haunches on the Anfield pitch and dejectedly gazing at the ground.
Sanchez has been repeatedly linked with a move to Manchester City and Henry said none of Arsenal’s players could be blamed for casting glances elsewhere.
“Everything that you see on the day has been happening for the past 10 years,” said the Frenchman.
“We talk about Sanchez and is he staying, but they are not going to want to be part of this team. That is why players are not renewing their contracts. They can see something is wrong.
“The word I have used for a long time — comfort. Everyone is comfortable at Arsenal. It’s not the same pressure you have at a big club. Everything is… nice.”
The Daily Mirror branded Arsenal “a lazy, arrogant, broken team with no ideas and no hope” and directly blamed Wenger, who last led Arsenal to the title in 2004.
The Sun called Arsenal “lazy” and “pathetic” and said their torment at the hands of Firmino, Salah and Sadio Mane represented “a new low”.
The Times called it “unacceptable, unwatchable, unforgivable”.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic officially announced his return to Manchester United through his social media accounts. The former Sweden International took to his personal social media page and posted a picture with a caption that confirm his return to the Old Trafford.
— Zlatan Ibrahimović (@Ibra_official) August 24, 2017
The news was also confirmed on Manchester United official website and the swede will wear the no 10 jersey this season.
“I am back to finish what I started. It was always mine and the club’s intention for me to stay. I cannot wait to get back out on that Old Trafford pitch, but I also know that I have to take my time to make sure that I am ready. I have been working hard and will continue to do so to make sure I am in the best possible condition for my return to the pitch”, the former Juve, Milan and Inter told the club’s official website.
Ibrahimovic and Manchester United parted companies a few months ago as the Premier League giants refused to extend the player’s stay at the Old Trafford. His return to the Red side of Manchester, however, is now a deal.
After having a stunning one year run with Manchester United, former PSG forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has released from Manchester United and again listed under free transfer.
35-year-old netted 28 goals in 46 appearances for United in all competitions. He got serious knee injury while playing Europa League Quarter-finals on April.
Despite he posted few recover videos on his social media pages, still he needs five more months to recover this. Also it will raise a question about the fitness to play in one of the toughest leagues in football.
Though Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has good long run relation with Ibrahimovic, this injury is a big blow for Ex-Barcelona forward and forcefully he ended his season prematurely with United.
Manchester United confirmed the release list and Ibrahimovic is the only player on the list.
His agent Mino Raiola said: “Many clubs have asked for Zlatan.
“He can play two more years and will stay in Europe, 100 per cent.”
During Ibrahimovic’s short run with Manchester United, his team mate Paul Pogba had a good time with on-ground off-ground. Place the winning odds on Ibrahimovic’s next replacement and his next move. You can have the best football accumulators on the odds of Ibrahimovic to continue playing.
Pogba Said:”He is a player who helped us a lot from an athletic point of view as well as from the mental side on and off the pitch,”
“He’s a wonderful person, incredibly funny, I only spend great moments with him.
“On the pitch he is a winner, he added this mentality to our team. He scored a lot of goals this season, nobody would have thought that given his age.”
Real Madrid player Alvaro Morata is heavily linked with Manchester United move. If he joins with Old Trafford, Ibrahimovic’s place will be filled with energetic youngster.
Jose Mourinho has always been known to start games in the press conferences. The Portuguese manager is famed for mind games, which he uses to gain advantage over his opposition. In some ways, his mind games reveal the team Mourinho fears the most or the team he considers to be on the verge of cracking. Since becoming the Manchester United manager in the summer, Mourinho has been pretty much occupied by the top four race when it comes to the Premier League.
United has not been able to make the assault for the title, as Mourinho would have hoped to do in his first season at the club. Mourinho knows pretty well that the manager, who wins the league title for the first time in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, will be granted legendary status at the club. Yet, Mourinho would be surprised to see his team remain fixed to the sixth spot for what seems like ages.
The Portuguese appears to be quite envious of his former club, Chelsea, who are the favourites to win the league title as projected by CrownBet (click here to see the latest odds).
Mourinho had been hinting throughout the season that Chelsea has been one directional in their approach. His criticism of Chelsea and the style of play seemed weird considering that the blues have been one of the best in terms of defending and they have also scored much more than United this season. Mourinho claimed that his tactics and style of play were not being given the due credit.
The feeling of sour grapes appears to have elevated even further in recent weeks. Mourinho has now gone on to directly state that the blues have managed to win the league title – despite being only eight points ahead of Manchester City with 39 points still at the disposal. Given the intensity with which Mourinho’s comments about Chelsea have gone up, it is clear that the 54-year-old is eyeing up an advantage for the upcoming FA Cup game at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho will be returning to the scene of the 4-0 humiliation suffered back in October. It remains as one of his biggest defeats in the Premier league. His comments have subtly turned the attention away from this loss, while Mourinho will certainly be hoping that the recent praises upon Chelsea may create some lackadaisical approach coming into the match.
Chelsea are involved only in the FA Cup and the Premier league. The club managed to beat Wolverhampton in the fifth round of the competition, while Manchester United overcame Blackburn Rovers. This high-profile game between the two clubs is scheduled on March 13.
Manchester United reached the EFL Cup final against Southampton, who exiled Liverpool from the competition, and United’s 17 match unbeaten run in all competition comes to an end.
Jose Mourinho, Manchester United Manager, is not accepted the defeat against Hull City (2-1) on their Second-leg of the semi-final.
Hull City’s first goal came from a controversial penalty awarded by the referee for Marcos Rojo’s push on box.
Mourinho refused to comment about referee’s decision and praised their side for their performance against the improved team Hull City.
It reflected on post-match interview of Mourinho to the Sky. He finished his comments within 30 seconds and concluded the interview.
Mourinho’s post match interview text, which is last for 30 seconds: “I just want to say congratulations to my players, it was difficult road to the final,” he said. “I’m calm, I behaved on the bench, no more sending offs, no more words.”
Portuguese Manager faced a match ban and fined £40,000 for his misbehavior against referee Jonathan Moss, while his manager period in Chelsea.
He also praised Hull City manager Marco Silva: “I told you in the beginning, and you maybe didn’t believe me, this boy is a very good manager.”
Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and Sergio Romero are going to play FA Cup fourth round against Wigan Athletic on Sunday, which is confirmed by Mourinho. Play all Jackpots online casino along with this Manchester United match
Few of his comments after the match against Hull City: “I think 18 matches unbeaten is amazing,”
“We didn’t lose. It was 1-1. I only saw two goals. I saw Paul Pogba’s goal and their goal was a fantastic goal, a great action. It was a great cross, and the guy coming in at the far post. 1-1.”
He stated about the controversial penalty goal : “I don’t want to speak about the penalty, but I don’t want also to speak about the performance because to speak about the performance again I have to say the game was in the pocket, the game was under control, and something happened to open the game.”
[dropcap]M[/dropcap]anchester United’s ‘stole victory’ against Everton as per their Manager Louis van Gaal, lift them next to Manchester City with one point down and make them one of the contenders for the next season’s Champions League place.
United’s graph not well since the beginning from this season, but they managed to avoid the Champions League exit from next season. Despite of poor scoring record with this season, they beat Manchester City in a vital match and found young talents on their side.
Anthony Martial scored the only goal of the match and stole the fans at Old Trafford.
Last three months LVG is fighting to secure his job in Old Trafford, which is still under threat by Jose Mourinho.
He said after 1-0 win against Everton:
“We didn’t play so well,”
“We didn’t create many chances.
“Everton are a very good team, much stronger away than at home, and it was a very tight game. We were the lucky team today.” Van Gaal said.
“We want to give entertainment for the fans, but the fans were entertained today because of the tension,”
“If we lose today, the victory against Manchester City is worthless,”
“Now we are still in the race. We have a very important game against Tottenham.”
With ten points separating La Liga leaders Barcelona and third placed Real Madrid heading into this weekend’s El Clasico, the fixture does perhaps not provide quite the hype in which has surrounded past meetings between the two. However, after a dominating 4-0 victory for Barcelona earlier on in the season, Zinedine Zidane will be determined to make amends as he comes up against old foe Luis Enrique for the first time as a manager. Over the years the two men have encountered each other many times on the field, and now bring their rivalry to the managerial stage as they take charge of their respective sides. Enrique will be looking to continue his excellent record against Madrid, having won over half of his El Clasico fixtures as a Barcelona player.
Aiming to win their fourth back to back La Liga title, Barcelona go into the fixture against a wounded animal in Madrid, who have struggled for consistency throughout this season. With key battles taking place all over the pitch, many will be hoping that the post match talk surrounds the football, rather than on pitch shenanigans and unsporting behaviour in which has marred recent matches.
The BBC vs MSN is gaining much of the attention in the build up to the game. Barcelona’s trio of Messi, Suarez and Neymar Jr have been in scintillating form this season, contributing to a combined sixty nine La Liga goals between them. Meanwhile, Real’s front three of Benzema, Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo have lacked their usual firepower in front of goal, leading to the downfall of the Bernabeu side so far this campaign. They will certainly have to bring their A game if Madrid are to achieve their first victory at the Nou Camp since 2012. Head to https://sports.betway.com/ where Zidane’s men are 5/1 on to close the gap on Barcelona come Saturday night.
The rivalry between the two teams has only heightened in recent years, with the battles between the likes of Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola bringing a whole new element to the historic fixture. Zidane will certainly be hoping to have a long reign with Madrid, and if he does so will no doubt have to improve his side’s recent record against the Catalan giants. The Frenchman will be doing his all to maintain a sense of calm within his team, with past occasions in the past on occasion being dominated by disciplinary issues. Madrid are 3/1 to have a man sent off at the Nou Camp.
[dropcap]D[/dropcap]iego Simeone has ended the speculation over his exit from Atletico Madrid.
He has been linked with Chelsea after their humiliating start and sacking of Jose Mourinho.
But, Simeone told El Pasis: “Why can’t I be here longer? Why did I choose a five-year contract? Because I see a club that is ‘virgin’ and Miguel Ángel [Gil Marín, the CEO] and Enrique [Cerezo, the president] have the ability to open up new sources to strengthen in. It’s not easy to leave Atlético.”
Now it’s become more complicate for the Blues. Guus Hiddink appointed for an interim basis and they need to do some magic to bring Pep Guardiola to Stamford Bridge.
After sacked by Chelsea, Jose Mourinho is still having his impact on Stamford Bridge through fans. The result against Sunderland was positive, but booing for few players and supporting banners for the Special One was the reaction from fans.
Somewhat, the Blues earned their three points after many games and it costs them a great manager.
John Terry’s post match interview has revealed the players thoughts about the Portuguese tactician.
35-year-old said: “Our thoughts are with the manager [Mourinho], because we are disappointed, it falls on his head unfortunately,”
“We needed to win and we’ve done that. Second half was not as good but we are delighted with the three points.”
He added: “There was a lot of pressure before the game but we brought it on ourselves. Absolutely and rightly so as well. Chelsea is such a big club.
“We are not used to being here, we’ve had a lot of good times in the last 10 years.
“Rightly so the fans are disappointed and so are we, we don’t want to be where we are.”
