Neymar’s electrifying four goals have proved that he is no more under the shadows of Lionel Messi, who is sidelined due to injury.
Brazilian’s top class performance against Rayo Vallecano helps his La Liga side to share the top position with Real Madrid. Neymar used this opportunity very well and he may get big price tag in January window.
Four-goal haul has impressed Barcelona coach Luis Enrique. There was a speculation about an transfer approach from Manchester United for this young talented on summer window.
Enrique told: “Neymar is electric and at the moment defenders only have two choices when facing him: commit a penalty or let him score,” Luis Enrique told a press conference.
“In one word, he was breathtaking.”
Neymar is feeling very happy after his big show in big club, which earned three silverware in las season.
“I’m very happy with the victory and with how we played, because Rayo are a great team and we struggled against them,”
“I can’t explain how I do what I do because it would be giving clues away, but it is all down to lots of practice.”
22-year-old Brazilian striker Neymar is having lots of pressure and hopes on his shoulders now. He is expecting the World Cup 2014 on his own soil and wants to crown the sixth trophy for his country.
Neymar is one of the most promising and growing football star in all level of games. He is playing for Barcelona now and that takes him to a new level in his career.
Brazil will play Croatia in World Cup 2014’s opening match at Sao Paulo on 12 June and Brazil is one of the strongest squad in this campaign.
Neymar is the second youngest player who wears number 10 shirt for Brazil, but he takes the full responsibility of the job, which is given to him.
“I think it is an honour to wear the Brazil shirt in my country and to see my greatest childhood dream come true, but the nerves are starting to appear and I’ve butterflies in my stomach,”
He also mentioned that this World Cup 2014 will be a tough one because top contenders like Spain, Germany, Netherland, Argentina and Portugal has very strong squad.
“Your opponents always want to win and will give everything against Brazil. We have no preference regarding who we play as we know every match will be difficult. To get to the final will be a dream,”
Meantime, his career is booming with good skills and energy. He turns to a new level after missing the South Africa 2010 squad.
He said: “It was not my turn (then) to play a World Cup. I have always worked for this day – unfortunately it didn’t happen for me on that occasion. But after that I was lucky enough to be called up to wear the Brazilian colours. I think the difference between the Neymar of 2010 and 2014 is that this one is more mature and has gained experience – the pleasure of playing remains the same.”
Let’s enjoy the show with this young man and hopes to see more productive goals from him.
Spanish court of law ordered FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell to provide court with all the documents related to Neymar’s transfer to Barca.
Allegedly, Neymar cost Barca 57 million euro, but in lawsuit is noted that Neymar’s price was bigger than that. Rosell has a deadline – he must provide court with all the details considering Neymar move, and whole financial report for the last three years.
If he lose this trial, it could have big consequences both on him, and on Barcelona’s finances.
Neymar played 14 matches so far in La Liga, scoring 6 goals for Barca.
Barcelona’s talented winger Cristian Tello is confident that he can break into the Barcelona first team despite the fierce competition for places, and has congratulated his former teammate Thiago Alcantara on his move to Bayer Munich.
Tello has the unenviable job of having to compete with Lionel Messi , Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and new boy Neymar who Barcelona signed for a whopping 57€ for a place in Barcelona’s first XI.
The 21-year-old remains confident that he can win his way into Coach Tito Vilanova’s team, and wished his teammate Thiago Alcantara the best of luck in the Bundesliga playing for European champions Bayern Munich.
“My choice and my dream is to succeed at Barca,” he told reporters on Friday. “Every year is more important. I have a position in the world’s squad, but I hope for more prominence with hard work.
“I want to fight for a place in the starting XI. Every year I have more experience and I like the challenge. I am prepared to deal with competition from Neymar and all the others who are very good – the competition is fierce.”
When speaking about Thiago Alcantara leaving the Nou Camp for Germany Tello said:
“People should respect Thiago’s decision. It’s a great signing for Bayern. I congratulate him and wish him the best.”
Tello only managed to start for the Catalans 12 times in La Liga last season and with the added competition for places Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers had hoped to tempt the youngster to Anfield where he would certainly feature in more matches.
Barcelona knows that Tello is a star of the future, and are ready to offer their flexible striker a better deal in order for him to stay at the Nou Camp with a buyout clause of 15€ million to be included as a deterrent to the Premiership clubs that come calling.
I thought it was an interesting article I read this week when former Dutch international Johan Cruyff said that if he was in charge at Barcelona he would have sold the man everyone considers to be the best in the world Lionel Messi before having signed Neymar.
The ex-Barcelona player and manager is hugely admired in Catalonia so his words are always listened to by the Barca fans for whom he will always be a member of the family.
The Dutchman claims that had he still been a director of the club that he would not have signed Neymar as he see’s problems in the future trying to accommodate the two star players.
‘No, I wouldn’t have signed Neymar,’ Cruyff told Marca. ‘With Neymar on board, I would have planned for the possibility of selling Messi – and some would agree with that, others not.
‘You are talking about a team, its players, the things around it … There are too many things at stake. That’s why it’s so difficult to manage such a top class squad.’
One of the reasons Cruyff gave was the question of who would be the man to take Barcelona’s free kicks as even though it had been a job normally performed by Messi the young Brazilian us also very good at them as you can see in the Video below scoring an absolute howler of a goal that flew past Italy’s Buffon before the keeper could even react.
Another reason for a possible confrontation said Cruyff:
‘Is the fact that Neymar and Barcelona are with Nike while Leo is with Adidas. These are situations that could cause problems.
‘We’ll have to wait and see – it could turn out well or badly,’ he added. ‘It’s a risk.’
