The Gunners have made an enquiry over the defender, but are yet to make a formal bid at this stage.

Arsenal had a bid for Evans rebuffed by West Brom last year but Arsene Wenger wants to sign a centre-half after his side’s calamitous start to the season and could look to muscle in on City’s efforts to sign the player.

West Brom want at least £30 million for Evans and are opposed to sanctioning his sale unless his valuation is met.

They have already rejected two offers from Leicester City first was a £10m Bid and report suggest they have also rejected a £21m bid for the 29-year-old.

However, City are expected to make a third offer worth up to £30 million for Evans today but Arsenal are understood to have enquired about the former Manchester United defender last night.

Not Chelsea But Liverpool, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Transfer Saga Continues

Reports from the British media claims Arsenal are on the verge of agreeing to a deal to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

The England international have reportedly rejected a £180k a week contract extension deal with the Gunners insisting he wants a move away from the Emirate Stadium.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte had made it clear he wanted to add further to his squad before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

But fear a late attempt from Liverpool in their bid to sign the talented wing-back.

The Mirror says Chelsea are trying to rush through a £40m deal for Oxlade-Chamberlain to fend off Liverpool.

The Blues had a bid accepted by Arsenal on Monday which will see it rise above £35m with add-ons and it is understood they moved quickly as they fear Liverpool in the background.

It now remains to be seen whether Liverpool will try and make a last-ditch bid but Chelsea know that there have been strong overtures from Anfield to try and get him.

” Disgrace ” A Team With No Ambition- Club Insider lambast cowardly Arsenal

Having been torn to pieces in their humiliating 4-0 defeat at Liverpool, a similar fate befell Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in the post-match post-mortems.

Wenger’s players were variously described as “lazy”, “pathetic”, “arrogant” and “disgraceful”, while the manager himself is under scrutiny once again just three months after signing a new two-year contract.

“Last season, I called them ‘cowards’,” former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports after Sunday’s match.

“And afterwards maybe I got a little bit of criticism. Maybe that’s a bit too strong and you can’t say that on live TV, but I’ll say it again –- cowards.”

“How can you play like this in a big game for so many of Arsenal’s players?” asked former Manchester United captain Gary Neville.

“Forget not turning up, forget not playing well, but just the general attitude or lack of respect for the shirt from three or four of them in not running back and not bothering is disgraceful.”

Arsenal great Thierry Henry, analysing the game for Sky Sports, confessed: “At one point I wanted to leave. I didn’t want to watch the game anymore. It’s too much to take.”

While it was Arsenal’s defensive shortcomings that were exhibited at Anfield, the player who featured on almost all the British newspapers’ sports pages was star forward Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international was despondency personified as he traipsed to the dugout following his 62nd-minute substitution.

After the game, he took to Instagram to post a caption-free picture of himself sitting on his haunches on the Anfield pitch and dejectedly gazing at the ground.

Sanchez has been repeatedly linked with a move to Manchester City and Henry said none of Arsenal’s players could be blamed for casting glances elsewhere.

“Everything that you see on the day has been happening for the past 10 years,” said the Frenchman.

“We talk about Sanchez and is he staying, but they are not going to want to be part of this team. That is why players are not renewing their contracts. They can see something is wrong.

“The word I have used for a long time — comfort. Everyone is comfortable at Arsenal. It’s not the same pressure you have at a big club. Everything is… nice.”

The Daily Mirror branded Arsenal “a lazy, arrogant, broken team with no ideas and no hope” and directly blamed Wenger, who last led Arsenal to the title in 2004.

The Sun called Arsenal “lazy” and “pathetic” and said their torment at the hands of Firmino, Salah and Sadio Mane represented “a new low”.

The Times called it “unacceptable, unwatchable, unforgivable”.

Breaking News: Arsenal agree to sell £35m defender Shkodran Mustafi

Follow Footballbible on all social media platform to get up to date football related news from the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other leagues around the World.

Just one year after arriving at Arsenal from Valencia for £35 million, defender Shkodran Mustafi is set to leave the Emirates for Serie A side Inter Milan.

The Italians will most likely take Mustafi on loan with a mandatory buy clause inserted into the deal. The sale of Mustafi comes on the heels of Arsenal agreeing to sell Gabriel to Valencia.

The Gunners aren’t expected to replace Mustafi with a like for like central defender this transfer window as Per Mertesacker, Rob Holding, Callum Chambers and Laurent Koscielny will be used as the team’s main centre-backs.

According to a report from the Daily Star, Mustafi hasn’t clicked with his teammates, which is why the big defender wants to leave this summer before the end of the transfer window.

It is believed Inter Milan are the front runners in signing Mustafi, Juventus are also considering a move for the German international.

While Arsenal won’t sign another central defender, the Gunners are still looking for other players to strengthen the side.

Club Desperate As £13.8m Star Signing Expected To Undergo Medicals In Coming Day

Marseille are considering a swoop for Liverpool forward Divock Origi, reports claim.

It’s believed Origi, 22, is fearful of losing his place in Belgium’s World Cup squad having been reduced to a bit-part player at Anfield.

And he’s seriously considering his options.

According to Marseille Mercato, Origi is firmly on the Ligue 1 club’s radar with a bid worth £13.8million expected in the coming days.

There’s plenty of time for Origi to rediscover his own form, but consistency rather than impact has been his issue at Anfield up until now and Solanke, along with a fit-again Daniel Sturridge, means there’s extra competition to face.

The news was also confirmed on Manchester United official website and the swede will wear the no 10 jersey this season.

“I am back to finish what I started. It was always mine and the club’s intention for me to stay. I cannot wait to get back out on that Old Trafford pitch, but I also know that I have to take my time to make sure that I am ready. I have been working hard and will continue to do so to make sure I am in the best possible condition for my return to the pitch”, the former Juve, Milan and Inter told the club’s official website.

Ibrahimovic and Manchester United parted companies a few months ago as the Premier League giants refused to extend the player’s stay at the Old Trafford. His return to the Red side of Manchester, however, is now a deal.

Can Everton Make the Top Four?

Rooney Everton

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s the finances at the elite clubs in England grow even more astronomical, it was widely assumed that the other clubs would have to scrap for seventh at best. Yet Everton have shocked everyone by shooting for the stars. A flurry of signings has transformed what could have been a preseason bemoaning the loss of Romelu Lukaku into a period of optimism.

Everton 2017

Only time will tell if Lukaku has been adequately replaced, but after seasons of inconsistency, there is a burgeoning hope that Everton will be able to sustain a challenge for European places. Last season saw Ronald Koeman begin to stamp his influence on the side. Having conducted so much transfer business early in the window, there is time for the Dutchman to continue gelling a side together that will hold ambitions of defying the odds and breaking the top four.

Manchester City have spent exorbitantly, whilst most of the other leading clubs have made marquee signings. The only exception is Tottenham Hotspur, with chairman Daniel Levy recently speaking out about how the considerable increase in spending is unsustainable. The two Manchester clubs and champions Chelsea are perceived to be the favourites to battle it out for the title, in part because of their willingness to part with vast sums of money.

Arsenal have signed one of the top European strikers in Alexandre Lacazette, but much will depend on their ability to hold onto Alexis Sanchez. Liverpool still have question marks over their defence, with the possibility of Philippe Coutinho heading to Barcelona a spanner in the works. Spurs have been outstanding over the past two seasons, but inevitable concerns will arise over their potential stagnation compared to their rivals.

Those three clubs will be the ones that Everton will be dreaming of overhauling. In the Premier League top four odds, Everton can be found at a price of 10/1 of securing a Champions League berth, and are almost caught in a league of their own between the top six and the rest of the chasing pack. Yet a strong start to the season for Everton would put pressure on Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal – three sides that will be aware of their vulnerable position in the top six. Unfortunately for Everton, they face Chelsea, Tottenham and the Manchester duo in their first five league matches.

Rooney Everton

Of course, get points on the board in those tricky fixtures and the sky will be the limit. Everton will also have to contend with the balancing act of a domestic charge and Europa League football, but the experience and quality of the new signings should alleviate that burden. Sandro Ramirez arrives on Merseyside on the back of a spectacular breakout season in Spain, although statistical analysis from Paul Riley shows that the Spaniard may struggle to match his level of goalscoring in future seasons.

Yet Sandro will be supported by a strong midfield. Davy Klaasen will bring energy and impact to both ends of the pitch, whilst the returning Wayne Rooney can replace his ageing legs with vision and experience. At the back, Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford will add steel, as well as their youth suggesting the foundations of a dynasty. Everton had an exciting squad already, but now they have quality and depth across the board. It will be a tough ask for them to break into the top four, but their business in the transfer market shows that they are up for the challenge.

Premier League Top Four Predictions

Who will finish in this year’s top four and secure Champions League Football? Chelsea are a given and the bookies have pretty much stopped taking bets on them, which leaves five teams battling it out for three spots, with only 4 points separating them.

Here are the bookies odds:

Man City         1.20

Tottenham     1.44

Liverpool       1.66

Arsenal           2.00

Man Utd          2.00

Let’s take a closer look at each teams remaining games and other factors which could influence their league ranking.

Man City

Man City find themselves on 52 points and have taken 10 points from their last 5 games. Next up they face Man Utd at home with a further three top 6 teams in theie last 12 games, including trips away to Chelsea and Arsenal. The bookies have them as favourites to qualify at 1.22.

Tottenham

Spurs have taken 8 points from their last 5 games and are coming off a loss to Liverpool. They however only face two of the top 6 in their last 13 games and have the best goal difference of the five teams, on +28. With only two of the big teams on their horizon, Spurs should be a good bet for a top four finish, with bookie odds of 1.44

Liverpool

Liverpool are coming off a strong 2-0 win against Spurs which they’ll hope will turned their poor run of form around, having taken only 5 points from their last 5 games. If Liverpool can get back to early season form they too will be in good shape, as like Spurs they only face two of the top 6 teams in their final 13 games. Liverpool are also out of all the Cup games and not in Europe, so if fresh legs can prevail, they’ll look to run mid-table teams off their feet.

Arsenal

Arsenal have taken 9 points from their last five with three wins and two losses. This inconsistent form will be put to the test with four of their last 13 games against top six teams, as well as tricky fixtures away to Southampton and the final game of the season at home to Everton. The bookmakers have the Gunners at betting odds of 2.0.

Man Utd

Man Utd have not lost in their last 5 Premier League outings and are coming off back-to-back wins after three draws in a row. After a rough start to the season the Red Devils have found a bit of form and will push hard for the top four. The bookies have them at 2.0 as they are the furthest off the pace on 48 points and have the worst goal difference at +17 of the five teams competing for the three spots. Man Utd also face four top six teams on their run in as well as tough games against Burnley away and Everton at home.
