Marseille are considering a swoop for Liverpool forward Divock Origi, reports claim.
It’s believed Origi, 22, is fearful of losing his place in Belgium’s World Cup squad having been reduced to a bit-part player at Anfield.
And he’s seriously considering his options.
According to Marseille Mercato, Origi is firmly on the Ligue 1 club’s radar with a bid worth £13.8million expected in the coming days.
There’s plenty of time for Origi to rediscover his own form, but consistency rather than impact has been his issue at Anfield up until now and Solanke, along with a fit-again Daniel Sturridge, means there’s extra competition to face.
The Premier League season may have just finished but already everyone is making EPL betting predictions and what might be. The summer transfer market is filled with hope and dread for fans as they may find that hidden gem or end up losing their star player. It is a vital window for the top four clubs who are the favorites to win the EPL next season and below I will take a look at all of their chances of being crowned champions next campaign.
The Blues will be most pundits EPL Betting tips for next season’s champions and rightly so after winning the EPL. It will be harder for them next time around as they will have to cope with the demands of playing in the Champions League as well this time around.
It looks like star player Hazard will be staying but a lot could change before the season kicks off. If they are going to keep the title they will need to keep hold of him along with strengthening their backline. Another striker is also a must for when Costa goes through his bad patch which normally happens each season. Last time they won the EPL they fell apart the following season but I can not see that happening again this time around.
Spurs are best placed to challenge for the title next season as their current young crop of players has been together a few season now. Each campaign they get better and if they can slightly improve on last season they could finally win the title.
They are in desperate need to add another striker to act as cover for Harry Kane if they are going to win the EPL. It also looks like Walker may be off to Manchester City so another full back will be required. The main stumbling block that could affect their chances will be that they are playing their home games at Wembley. They have a poor record here and will need to change that or they may even struggle to qualify for the Champions League again.
City is the second favorite to win the Premier League next season but the EPL online betting odds could well change before the season kicks off. They are investing early and heavily in world-class players which Pep Guardiola thinks will turn his team into champions. The manager will have learned a lot in his first season in English football and now he gets a chance to build a squad capable of winning it.
If the EPL just had the top six teams playing against each other every week, Liverpool would be top. They play brilliantly against the best clubs in the division but lose too many points against the lower ranked teams. If Klopp can find leaders to add to his squad that can change the mentality of the players during these types of matches, they are in with a great chance. They will also need to keep hold of their star players which could be difficult for them. If they can do this and finally get their transfer dealing spot on, they will be fighting for the title next year.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]ottenham are struggling to reach knockout stages in Champions League. Now the trouble become big after they lost 0-1 with Bayer Leverkusen at Wembley, which is their temporary home ground.
This is their second Champions League defeat this season and it adds with six competitive lost matches at same stadium.
Harry Kane, Mousa Dembele, Toby Alderweireld, Erik Lamela and Danny Rose are ruled out with injury and it causes big impact on Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
But, Hugo Lloris is expecting a big miracle on their Champions League run and derby clash against Arsenal on Sunday.
He said: “We cannot be in a worse situation. It is difficult to accept that kind of performance from us. It was difficult to recognise the team, very aggressive, very calm under pressure, and that was completely the opposite.
“We need to learn quickly because there is a big game in Sunday. The derby is always important and we need to forget about this disappointment and be ready.”
He believes that injuries of few players will not affect the entire team’s performance.
“We cannot depend on one, two or three players. We need to think as a team.”
“In football there are ups and downs. It is difficult because this game was every important and I did not feel we were aware of that. Leverkusen did not play a great game. They were just well-organised and had some chances because of us, because we made too many mistakes.”
[dropcap]L[/dropcap]eicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has pleased with his team result against Newcastle United, who recently appointed Rafa Benitez as their manager. He also said the title race is still a tough one to decide.
Shinji Okazaki scored only goal of the match and help his side to maintain their five points lead with second place Tottenham.
All eyes are waiting to see the new Champions in Premier league 2015-16. Ranieri is having more cautious and pressure, after this crucial match.
“When you change a manager, players want to show their attitude, and plus, the Newcastle players are very good, I am sure at the end they will be safe [from relegation].
“For this reason, I was waiting for a difficult match and it wasn’t one of our best performances but we showed our fantastic spirit.
“In the first half, we conceded too many dangerous actions and in the second half, we were a little more concentrated and won the first and second balls. In the first half, we lost so many balls.
To be a part in this most interesting Premier League ever, play with fantasy Premier League
He added: “It was important somebody scored the goal and then we defended very well. In this moment, it is important for us to play and to fight.”
“It wasn’t a nervous second half, it was maybe much better in the second half because the team was so close and so compact,” he added. “In the first half, they came too many times through the middle and had some good actions.
“Not always did we play well. We played well for example against Aston Villa and West Bromwich but we drew those matches 1-1 and 2-2.
“Now we play not so good as those games but we won. That is important – three points. There are eight matches to go and we continue. Our fans are dreaming and are proud of us. That’s important for us and we’ll carry on.”
“I feel I am very concentrated on the next match against Crystal Palace, and it will be another tough match,” he continued.
“Our concentration is important, we are so strong and we think about only one match. Step by step, that is our philosophy.”
Jermain Defoe has agreed to a move to Major League Soccer club Toronto FC. The Spurs winger will join his new club in March when the league begins. Defoe has made a total of 11 appearances so far has scored nine times for the Spurs. One of the reasons for his move to the MLS is therefore regular play time.
Toronto FC and Tottenham have agreed on a $9 million fee for Defoe. The winger will be paid a weekly wage of $135,000 and is reported to have signed a four-year contract with his new club.
Spurs manager, Tim Sherwood believes that Defoe will be a vital back-up option for the team until March. Speaking on the transfer, Sherwood said, ‘This is a great opportunity for Jermain Defoe and he feels it is one that he wishes to pursue.’
Jermain Defoe scored a total of 142 goals in nine years he has played with Spurs. He has a record of being the fifth all-time leading scorer of the club.
The England International has spoken with great admiration for Spurs and promised to perform at his best until he is with the club. Speaking about his decision to move, he said, ‘Everybody knows how much this club means to me. I will play my heart out for the team and the fans until my last kick for the club.’
“I have had a fantastic time here and the fans have always been amazing to me,” the striker continued. “I am grateful for the opportunity for myself and my family to experience living overseas and for me to play in MLS with a contract that will take me to the age of 35. I have no doubt I shall be coming back as a fan supporting the team in the years to come too.”
Arsenal vs Tottenham Preview:
Arsenal will face spurs in the upcoming FA cup fixture and this will be their first meeting in this competition since 2001, when arsenal won 2-1 at old Trafford.
Arsenal seem to be the favorites to win the third round of the FA cup as their incredible League form continues. Tottenham has lifted the FA cup trophy eight times while Arsenal became the English Cup leader ten times in the cup history, last winning in 2005.
ARSENAL – Gunners will play without injured strikers Oliver Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner while a young 17-year-old midfielder, Gedion Zalalem, is set to debut against Tottenham.
Tottenham – Sherwood’s team will miss Adebayor as he was stretched out in their previous match against Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Theo Walcott has cherished this tie and assured that their hard work will impress Emirates spectators.
“For the neutrals it’s going to be a very interesting battle,” he said. “It’s one of those games that’s going to be very open, I’m pretty sure of that.
“The first fixture I always look at is Tottenham. Every time Tottenham come here or we go there, you want to put 100 per cent in, and more if you can.
“It’s at the Emirates, we’re trying to make our stadium into a fortress and we are starting to do that.
“These are massive games, the games that everyone wants to be part of. We’ve had a busy festive period going into the New Year and everyone needs to recover well which we have been doing. Hopefully players can come back but [for] Tottenham, we’ve got to be right up for that. I can’t wait for that game.
“Hard work will decide it. If everyone’s doing their jobs right and working hard for each other – that’s what it comes down to in the end.
“We have that trust in the dressing room. Everyone trusts each other and when you have that you’re going to build on that and go from strength to strength.”

Villas Boas left the club, but the agony continues! Tottenham lost in quarterfinal of Capitol One cup, in their own ground, from West Ham. The result was 1:2. Tottenham had the lead 10 minutes before end game. Adebayor scored his first goal for Spurs this season. The big striker was out of favor of the ex manager Boas, but as we see, the problems in Tottenham are a lot more deeper.
In 80. minute Jarvis scored an equalizer, and in the last moments of the match, Maiga brought victory to Sam Allardice’s team.
In other match played today, United beat Stoke 0-2. Ashley Young and Patrice Evra were the scorers. This match will be remembered of sudden storm that hit Stoke, the play had to be suspended for a while, and after match resumed England champions took the lead and then routinely put the game “to bed”.
After humiliating 0:5 defeat by the hands of Liverpool, Tottenham’s board took action and sacked manager Villas-Boas.
Former Porto and Chelsea manager was vastly criticized because of his game against top teams, and heavy defeats in matches with Manchester City and Liverpool. Also, Boas failed to win every match which played against better placed teams in Premier league table.
His summer spending was a flop too, with 75 million pound combined Soldado and Lamela are already linked with moving away from Tottenham.
It is interesting though that Boas is the best manager in Tottenham history when we look at win/lose ratio – he won 53% of all Tottenham matches while he was in charge, which is the best score in Tottenham’s history.
American midfielder made big headlines during the summer when he moved back to the States to play in the MLS joining the Seattle Sounders from Tottenham for a reported $9.2 million.
Previous to joining Tottenham Dempsey spent five years at Craven Cottage, winning the clubs player of the year award in his final two seasons with the club, yet this was not enough for the ambitious American knowing that Fulham at least for now would not be a club challenging for titles or involved in European soccer pushed for a move to join a bigger club.
After a deal with Liverpool broke down the 30-year-old was in a taxi heading across London to sign at the last minute for Tottenham.
His desire to ditch Fulham upset his Loyal fans who thought he should have shown more respect to the club that helped make him a star in the Premiership.
‘Even when I said in my last conversation with him that I loved him, it was not good enough to keep him here,’ said Martin Jol after Dempsey’s $9 million deadline day move to Spurs.
‘From the first day he came back from vacation he didn’t want to play here. He wanted to move so of course you can force the issue and then come up with things.’
The move was not what Dempsey had though it would be finding himself more on Andres Villas-Boas bench rather than on the pitch, and once the Spurs boss signed Brazilian Paulinho Dempsey knew he had made the wrong move going to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy knowing that he would have all the money from the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid available for new signings got in touch with the MLS and did a great piece of business that suited all parties involved.
Since arriving in Seattle Dempsey has yet to score a goal for the Sounders, but playing in the MLS does give him the opportunity to return to the Premiership on loan in the New Year just as Thierry Henry has done for Arsenal, and Landon Donovan for Everton.
As we all know this is a World Cup year, and the American will be keen to keep playing ahead of Brazil, and while Tottenham have first choice in signing him should he return to England, he is a player that they do not need who would get very little playing time, if any at all.
Dempsey has the perfect chance to redeem himself with the Fulham fans should he sign a short term loan deal with the Cottagers he would find himself being a regular starter in Dutchman Martin Jols side playing behind Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov.
This would be a perfect solution that would suit both Fulham and Dempsey as he prepares to lead the U.S.A. nest summer in Brazil.
