This fine victory has put them top of group A and they can potentially go into the game against England are looking for just in draw. England, though, need to get a win in order to stay alive in the tournament. Gareth Bale may have been the easy and obvious target for the opposition in the opening match, but the brilliant Real Madrid winger came up with a goal to ensure that Wales started the campaign in positive fashion.

One of the positives for England will be the form of Wayne Rooney, who was impeccable against Russia. Likewise, Hodgson will contemplate the possibility of resting Harry Kane, who looked weary and tired throughout the game. Kane is coming on the back of a long and hard campaign with Tottenham. After having performed exceptionally well up until now, the Tottenham striker is in danger of losing his position to Jamie Vardy for the game against Wales.

Coleman is unlikely to make many changes to the starting line-up that won convincingly against Slovakia. The race to qualify for the last 16 round of the competition is heating up and the arrival of Vardy to the starting line-up may be the crucial element that pushes England towards their first win.
