It started with the Champions League group-stage draw. In truth, it started before that with the qualifying rounds, but no one really cares for that.
Porto started theirs with a 2-0 win away in Zagreb. The second round of matches saw Dynamo Kyiv with a 2-0 victory against Zagreb, their only victory in the group. Porto would go on to beat PSG 1-0, with a late goal from Rodriguez. Third round saw Kyiv put up a good fight against Porto, but would lose 3-2 to the Portuguese giants. Zagreb would lose at home, another 2-0 loss to PSG. The fourth group of matches saw Kyiv and Porto draw 0-0, with PSG demolishing Zagreb 4-0. Fifth saw Porto 3-0 winners against Zagreb, and Kyiv lost at home to PSG 2-0 with Lavezzi grabbing both goals. The last round of matches saw Zagreb gain their only point in the group with a 1-1 draw, their goal coming with the last kick of the ball, a 95th minute penalty against Dynamo Kyiv. PSG went on to beat Porto 2-1 in the decisive game to see who would end top of the group.
The group itself was predictable with PSG and Porto heading through to the knockout stages, without a threat from the other two clubs. PSG would finish top of the group with 15 points, losing only one match against Porto who would finish with 13 points.
