New Bordeaux boss Gus Poyet has revealed that Arsenal and Tottenham target Malcom will not be allowed to leave the club this January, according to the Metro.
The Brazilain winger has been linked with a move to North London, with his representatives even spotted in London over a week ago.
The 20-year-old had been tracked by Arsenal as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, before Wenger denied claims they were close to signing the winger.
The Gunners then brought in Henrikh Mhkitaryan as part of Alexis Sanchez deal, giving their North London rivals Tottenham the chance to take advantage of the drop in interest and move into pole position to sign the promising forward.
Malcom has made clear his intentions to move to the Premier League, but new boss Gus Poyet during his unveiling ruled out a January departure. He said: “The first thing I asked was if Malcom was staying. I was told yes.
“I said OK, now we can continue the discussion.”
Bordeaux President Stephane Martin also reaffirmed Poyet’s claims
“It has been said over and over that Malcom will not leave,” said Martin.
“He said he wanted to play in the Premier League someday; it’s normal – what player would not want to play in England?
“There is no problem with Malcom.”
Malcom has scored seven times in 19 games this season, the same figures he managed in 33 games last season, showing marked improvement in his game.
