Theo Walcott doesn’t want to enter into negotiations with Arsenal over a new contract until the end of the season, according to a report in Sportsmole.co.uk.
The winger is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season and is only normal if he’s begun to consider his future at the club.
With his contract expiring at the end of next season, talks over a new deal are supposed to have resume but Walcott wants to wait until the end of the season before opening talks with the club.
His future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with Everton, West Ham and Southampton all said to be interested in signing him.
Walcott who has lost his place in Wenger’s starting xi could be interested in a move to any of the above named club, knowing he would find it difficult to reclaim a spot in Wenger’s team.
But before he makes a decision on hisv Arsenal future, the Times say Walcott has decided to put contract renewal talks on hold until the summer because he wants to see if his involvement in the Premier League would increase.
Walcott is Arsenal’s longest serving player and would definitely feel like he deserves more at the Emirates. So I am not surprised he wants to wait and see if his situation changes before committing his future to the club.
