Arsenal star Danny Welbeck insists there is no split in the Gunners dressing room.
Reports surfaced today that Arsenal stars have started turning on themselves after a run of four straight defeats in all competitions.
The Sun claim Gunners stars Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Shkodran Mustafi are all in the firing line from their own team-mates.
But Welbeck insists that is not the case and he had not heard the story until asked in an interview.
“Well I didn’t know about that until you just said,” Welbeck told Sky Sports.
“So there’s no split in the camp. I didn’t even know about that story until now.”
Welbeck admits recent results have not been good enough and says the players are aware of the fans’ pain.
“The results haven’t been good enough, we should be doing a lot better to what we have been doing,” the England striker added.
“We know we play for Arsenal Football Club, the fans are hurting, everyone involved around the club is hurting.
“We feel the disappointment and that’s something that we want to put right.
“It’s been a difficult period but it’s something where going into the next match we want to make it a positive result for us.”
Manager Arsene Wenger is under pressure yet again after a poor season at the Emirates but Welbeck insists the players must be able to motivate themselves to improve.
“We’re professional footballers and we know what we’ve done to get to this stage and how to keep on getting better and how we can improve on the negative results we’ve had recently,” he continued.
“So we want to improve but you do go home and you look at yourself and say ‘how can I put things right?’.
“I think the minimum requirement is to stand and fight in every single area of the pitch. We know that our quality will shine through in the end.”
