Arsenal could make a move for AC Milan forward Andre Silva as Wenger steps up his effort to sign a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
The portuguese striker was heavily linked with Arsenal before he joined Milan for £33m in the summer.
One would think that would end reports linking him with a move to the Emirates but the Daily Star are claiming Milan may have to sell the striker if they are unable to secure a Champions League spot at the end of the season.
And Arsenal have been linked with the forward again.
The report via the Daily Cannon claim Arsenal will be interested in signing the striker, should Milan put him up for sale.
It’s being claimed the club search for Alexis Sanchez replacement would see Wenger consider signing Silva if the opportunity arises.
Wenger wanting to sign a player who he turned down the chance of signing few months ago doesn’t make sense.
The report claim Silva was a major target of Arsenal in the summer, but Wenger’s decision to sign Lacazette for almost twice the figure Milan spent on him says otherwise.
His adaptation to life at the Serie A should even deter Wenger. He is yet to score a goal for Milan this season, so there isn’t any guarantee he will hit the ground running in a more demanding league like the Premier League.
We should only be looking at players who have the quality to quickly adapt to life in the Premier League as replacement for Sanchez and Silva doesn’t look like he has that.
