Inter Milan new boy Yann Karamoh has revealed Arsenal tried to sign him before he moved to the San Siro.
The 19 year old striker joined Inter from Caen on Transfer deadline day and has now revealed that he could have joined Arsenal instead.
Speaking in a Q&A section with fans earlier in the week, the winger spoke about his move to Inter and in the process revealed Arsenal made contact with his agent to ascertain the possibility of a summer move.
“It’s a new football, I hope I can improve a lot,” Karamoh is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
“I’ve come to a new team and for me it’s important that they’re betting on me. PSG were waiting to make a move for me, and Arsenal contacted my agents.
“There was also interest from Monaco and Lyon, but I decided to come here.
“Italian football is new for me, there’s much more quality here than in France, you could see that last year in Monaco-Juventus.
“It’s tough here, I was used to training this way in France but I hope I can improve a lot.
“My inspirations? There are so many. I’m inspired by Neymar, [Ricardo] Quaresma and also [Paulo] Dybala who is someone I admire a lot.”
Arsenal are a club that has developed special interest in talented youngsters over the years and it could be true that we tried to sign Karamoh.
However, I am quite sure he wasn’t the only one we contacted all summer. No one can say why the club decided not to pursue a move for the forward but there is every chance we will continue to keep an eye on his development at the San Siro. A future move? Maybe.
