Arsene Wenger has admitted that it is possible for Arsenal to allow Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil leave the club in January.
The pair are stalling on extending their contracts at Arsenal and are the widely expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
Wenger has always insisted he would keep the duo until the end of their contracts but considering how much financial loss the club could take if they leave for nothing, Wenger could now consider letting them leave if a substantial bid is received in January.
As reported by the Express, when asked if there is a deadline for both players to sign new deals, Wenger said: “No, not at the moment. Once you are in our kind of situation we have envisaged every kind of solution.”
And asked if that could mean they could leave in January and said:
“Yes, it’s possible.”
Wenger’s recent comments could mean that the club is already planning for life without the two star players.
Sanchez is attracting interest from Paris Saint Germain, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea while Ozil has been linked with Man Utd, Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
While Ozil could stay if Arsenal meets his outrageous salary demands, Sanchez appears to have set his heart on a move away from the club.
