Arsenal are in the hunt for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to reports.

The Gunners are looking for defensive reinforcements in the summer after failing to land Jonny Evans in January.

And the Sun report that Juventus star Rugani is on Arsenal’s radar.

The 23-year-old has fallen down the pecking order in Turin, making just 12 Serie A appearances and two in the Champions League this season.

And Arsene Wenger could be poised to swoop.

Davide Torchia, Rugani’s agent, said: “Rugani it’s an international player. He could play in any league. So also in U.K.

“He’s young. Elegant in the way of playing. I know that various top European top club follow him.

“Some are English. Arsenal? In the past, some seasons ago, we spoke with them.

“At the moment there are no official contact with them.”

He added: “He is happy at Juventus. He does not want to leave Torino. And he hopes to play continuously.

“However, if they were to receive a big offert for him, maybe he could be sold.”

Arsenal are expected to be active in the summer after signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January.

They tried to land a defender in Evans but focused their efforts on the two deals they did manage.

Arsenal tried to move Shkodran Mustafi on in the summer and have worries about Laurent Koscielny’s fitness.
