Arsenal are closing in on Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir, according to reports.
The gifted playmaker was one of Lyon’s best player last season and Arsenal have been impressed by his quality.
With Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez still yet to sign new deals at Arsenal, Wenger is apparently on the look out for potential replacements and Fekir features highly on the boss’ wishlist.
According to Starsport, Arsenal and Lyon are already in advanced talks over the transfer of Fekir.
The report claims a deal is almost done and will cost Arsenal around £60m.
This would surpass the £52m we paid for Alexandre Lacazette last summer.
Arsenal are reportedly willing to accept a £30m offer for Ozil and would settle around the same fee for Sanchez. The money gotten from the duo’s exit is expected to be reinvested into Fekir’s signing.
Fekir does look like one who would be a great signing for us. His potential is enormous and his ability to play as a no. 10 or either as a striker makes him the perfect Arsenal man. Even at that, £60m looks like a huge fee to pay for a player who has only tasted Ligue 1 football
