Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club will be looking towards signing younger player, as he discussed the club’s transfer policies and his role in transfers.

The last one year has seen major changes in the club staff, with the new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat and head of football relations Raul Sanllehi, the two biggest names to join the club backroom staff.

Arsene Wenger however claims that nothing has changed at the club in terms of power as he still has final say during transfers

“It is no different. Yes [I still have the final say].” he said in a press conference (via Daily Cannon)

He revealed that there would be some changes in the club ambition and policies

“We have to revisit the way we structure our club, and our scouting policy.

“You look at world-class players now. Look at Ronaldo, Neymar, Sanchez, their level of financial demands and the level of their costs. You have to go younger and certainly these players are not affordable.

“What is important today is that we are the club that can maybe give them (young players) a chance, more than many other clubs. Modern football has created a kind of game where the best players in the game are grouped to a various small number of clubs.”

The club seems to have been making some big moves recently, with a deal for Henrikh Mhkitaryan agreed and Aubameyang on his way, so whether Wenger agrees or not, somethings have changed at the club and the new men in the backroom staff must have a hand in the change.

Looking at the amount PSG and Barcelona have spent this season, it’s agreed that Wenger is right about the club not having realistic chances to land the big names, so we hope we can unearth the next super stars early with the help of the two new men in the recruitment team.
