Inter Milan and Arsenal could battle for the signature of Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to reports.
Vidal who has established himself as one of Europe’s most industrious midfielders is attracting interest from a host of top clubs including Arsenal.
The Gunners were linked with Vidal in the summer transfer window but nothing concrete materialized.
According to Tuttosport via the Daily Cannon, Inter Milan will now try to sign the midfielder, after they failed to convince him to join them last summer.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are also believed to be keen on the Chilean.
Arsenal’s name may come as a surprise to many, considering we’ve never made any serious attempt to sign the midfielder, although we’ve been linked with him for a long time.
Should Arsenal happen to show any concrete interest in Vidal, it means we will have to battle with Inter to sign him.
I don’t think there’s any reason for Arsenal to make a move for the Chilean.
Taking nothing away from Vidal, Arsenal would be better off looking at younger targets if we become interested in signing a midfielder.
Again, the number of clubs that would be rushing to sign him and the fee Bayern may likely demand will make him a bit difficult to sign, making it better for us to look at more attainable targets.
Vidal has made nine appearances this season and have found the back of the net just once.
