Crystal Palace are set to be active in the January transfer market and fancy Danny Welbeck for £10m ($13.16m) to solve their Christian Benteke-shaped goalscoring problem, according to the Sun.
Welbeck, 27, is out of contract at the Emirates at the end of the season and has yet to be offered a new deal by the club.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson knows him well – Welbeck played under the former England boss for the national team on 25 occasions – and is said to be keen to take him to Selhurst Park.
The Eagles have had injury problems this season and have struggled badly in front of goal – a problem Hodgson knows he needs to resolve in order to keep his side up.
Palace are desperately short of goals and have main striker Christian Benteke sidelined until the new year with a knee injury.
