Arsenal and Manchester United are battling to sign Nicolas Pepe this summer, L’Equipe claim.

L’Equipe reckon the Premier League big boys are willing to pay around £65m for Pepe.

Manchester City and Chelsea have also been credited with interest in Pepe ahead of the summer transfer window.

Nicolas Pepe joined Lille from Angers in 2017 and this season, the 23-year-old is one of the most talked about players in European football.

The Ivorian international became the first Lille player since Eden Hazard to score 19 goals in a single Ligue 1 season after his match-winner against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

Pepe’s blistering form this season has seen him linked to a number of top European clubs, and with six league games, he has an excellent chance to surpass the Belgian’s mark.

Lille president Gerard Lopez told Telefoot he expects the player to move on.

“Four or five players will be leaving this summer,” he said.

“All clubs are forced to balance their accounts except perhaps one. I would say yes, it is sure he [Pepe] will leave.

“He enters a price range that can no longer be paid. There is a career choice to make for him, I think he will have the choice.”
